1. Strongly reducing corrosive environment
Hastelloy(如Hastelloy C-276)It exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance in strong reducing acids such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid, while common stainless steels (such as 304 and 316) will rapidly corrode and fail in these media.
2. Chloride ion-containing medium
In environments containing chloride ions such as seawater and chloride solutions, Hastelloy has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, while ordinary stainless steel is prone to local corrosion.
3. High-temperature oxidation and carburizing environment
Hastelloy can be used for a long time at temperatures above 650℃ and has good oxidation resistance and anti-carburization properties, while ordinary stainless steel will severely oxidize and become brittle at high temperatures.
4. Mixed acid environment
In mixed acid media such as sulfuric acid + hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid + nitric acid, the comprehensive corrosion resistance of Hastelloy far exceeds that of ordinary stainless steel.
5. Wet chlorine gas environment
Hastelloy can still maintain stable corrosion resistance in strong oxidizing media such as wet chlorine gas and hypochlorite.
6. High-temperature and high-pressure environment
Hastelloy has excellent mechanical properties and creep resistance under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, and is suitable for equipment such as chemical reactors and heat exchangers.
These characteristics make Hastelloy alloy steel strips widely used in harsh working conditions in fields such as chemical engineering, petroleum, Marine engineering, and environmental protection, while ordinary stainless steel is only suitable for general corrosive environments.
